I'll dominate 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually happening.
